Best fiction books of 2012

The past twelve months salvaged many a pleasant surprise, but I would have to be limited to a single novel, the reader was able to capture my heart, my choice is made clear. And although “The Way of Kings” by Brandon Sanderson certainly has also drawbacks that cloud the fun of it. More entertaining clearly succeeded Joe Abercrombie and his “hero Blade,” but his ideas are not brilliant compared to the start of the Storm Light series half as much. And not half so important for the fantasy genre. The innate fascination of countless readers have been forfeited and the latest Tolkien took its beginning is, by Brandon Sanderson by protagonists as shown Dalinar and medieval epic wonderfully staged and combined with an absolutely fresh ideas. Magic armor, deadly swords, giant crustaceans, dangerous bridges and breathtaking intrigue - “The Way of Kings,” maintains the highest level and could already be in the not too distant future, already hailed as a classic. The year 2012 was again less than a year of many dazzling new releases, many of which stand out from the crowd. So this time, the more difficult it is to pick a “highlight”. Nevertheless, I believe, with the launch of the “Ice Wolf Saga” by Holger Weinbach, consisting of the volumes of “fratricide” and “wrong ways” to have made a good choice. For this debut, it still appeared in a very small publishing house deserves attention and is always also a nice break in the Historic genre. This is due to the varied and intriguing story, which even at the end of the second volume leaves many mysteries - a fact that due to the many opportunities it offers striking, pleasantly positive. Since everything else is right - characters, atmosphere, setting - I see no reason why this should remain the “Ice Wolf saga” a secret.
